[AHS.EmergencyPreparedness] Part-time Position Available: Ambulance Inspector

Greetings -

The EMS Office is seeking a qualified individual to join our team of Ambulance Inspectors.

Duties: Travel in teams of two with an EMS Office staff member to evaluate the operational readiness of Vermont's ambulance fleet.  Specific tasks include ensuring the ambulance is in good working order, has valid DMV documentation and insurance and is in compliance with the required equipment list and EMS Rule.

Schedule: Approximately fifteen days a year between April and October (one or two days a week).  A typical work day begins at 7:45AM in Burlington and may last eight to twelve hours. Occasional overnight trips may be required.

Work environment: The majority of work takes place inside a vehicle bay but may involve working outdoors in a variety of lighting and weather conditions. This job will involve a great deal of car travel.

Ideal candidate: Experienced, detail-oriented EMS provider and advocate for EMS regulatory functions.

Qualifications: A current Vermont EMS license; the ability to read, write and speak English; strong familiarity with all of the equipment, supplies and medications on the required equipment list. Preference is given to Paramedics, but all EMS license levels will be considered.

Salary: $19.00/hour
