[ANR-SWRecyCo] Shingle follow up from Recycling Coordinators Meeting

Hello All,

Sorry about the abbreviated recycled asphalt shingle (RAS) discussion the other day.  If you hadn't heard, Dan Horton, ASR (https://www.asrsystems.net/)  thought that the meeting was one day later, and was profusely apologetic for missing it.  He has every intention of coming to the January 22nd meeting, along with a representative of IKO, who manufactures 80% of the residential shingles used in the Northeast.  Unfortunately for him, it will be in Middlebury, and in winter.  His fault!

I am attaching the grant agreement that we just signed with the Town of Panton for purchasing and trucking RAS to be mixed with gravel and applied to one of their town roads as part of our VTrans/ANR research.  The grant will give you a sense of the purpose of the research and expectations for the Town and State.  If you think that a town or towns in your area would like to participate, we have funds available for two, maybe three, more test sections.  We (VTrans and ANR) have pitched the project at a number road foreperson meetings, RPC meetings, SW district boards, and would be happy to take our roadshow back out.  Let us know if you have an audience.

The RAS was delivered to Panton today, and they intend to mix and install the RAS/gravel within the next couple of weeks.  If anyone is interested in observing the installation, I'd be glad to pass along the final schedule.  Let me know.
