Could one just use a metal trash can then?

Northwest District is using a standard containment unit for lithium battery storage. The unit is not a fire-rated storage container. The storage unit isolates the lithium batteries in a secure fashion outside of the main building and from all other special wastes.

Subject: [ANR.HWNetwork] question

Good afternoon, everyone:

Do any of you have a fireproof box that you no longer need, that we could have? I'm looking for something that could hold between 2 and 4 Call2Recycle boxes. We want to copy what the Northwest District does and store lithium batteries outside, in a fireproof container until they're ready to be shipped.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Mary
